DUI Car Insurance - Yikes!

By Carley Swift

DUI Car Insurance ... You could waste a great deal of time trying to find DUI car insurance that puts you with a reputable auto insurance company and is willing to offer you "reasonable rates". Let me help to make it easier and faster.

The rates for your auto insurance coverage just went up, significantly if you have managed to land yourself with a DUI or DWI. Why? Risk! You have just become a major concern and risk to the auto insurance companies in general and they all do not offer DUI car insurance.

Most often you will be dropped from your current carrier and you must begin the search for new coverage. Or you discover the company you are currently with is willing to keep you on board with them, but at an enormous rate hike. Another reason to begin the search to find a better deal if that's even possible.

It's possible your insurance carrier has dropped you flat if you find yourself on the following list in the driving arena: A drunk driving violation.Driving without insurance. You have a poor credit history.Multiple accident claims.Multiple tickets.Received a notice from the DMV requiring a SR-22 filing.Do you even know what a SR-22 Insurance Filing for a DUI or DWI violation is? If you got one you do and you need to fill it out and file it or you will not be reinstated into the driving arena without one.

An SR22 form provides proof that high risk drivers have obtained auto insurance that meets minimum liability requirements. And it makes sure your automobile insurance company will let the DMV know if your policy lapses - and that's for any reason. This SR22 normally lasts three years.

Most standard auto insurance carriers do not typically offer SR22 insurance fillings for DUI and DWI offenders. You need to begin you search for companies who handle high-risk or non-standard policies.

There are several companies that offer to "broker" your business for you. It comes with a cost to them and all of the costs involved in the DUI coverage with the companies they are aware of and put you with.

Sometimes it's better to find them on your own and save that extra fee for the companies that want to help, since it's simply additional cost. However, if the cost is not a problem they can save you some leg-work.

If your into keeping the costs of the very expensive situation down to the best that can be expected under your circumstances then the internet and online surfing is the way to go. It's fast & private.

There are several auto insurance companies that can offer you these high-risk types of coverage and provide a free online quote, to boot.

Keep in mind that the bare minimum you will need when this is all settled is your basic liability coverage is required for any vehicle you own. Non-owner liability must usually be purchased even if you do not own a vehicle. Many states require uninsured motorist coverage, too. And last but not least, any outstanding fines for moving violations and parking tickets must be paid and a reinstatement fee is required by the DMV.

Yikes! It's a lot to think about. Want more tips and where to find some decent auto insurance companies that can help with high-risk and DUI Car Insurance? Get a free quote at this popular website Auto Insurance Companies Free Quote, http://www.auto-insurance-companies-free-quote.com
